Sunburn Treatment
More people start looking for this while the sun is up, spring is just around the corner and bikini’s everywhere. No matter how many times we have faced this problem in the past, we never tend to learn from our mistakes. We have this natural tendency to stay in the sun too long and get burned.
Even though you know that you should not be lying in the sun, you can’t help it because it simply feels too good to be out there enjoying the beautiful bright rays of the sun. We just can’t help it. Other times, we get sunburned by accident, or only on one part of the body that we didn’t realize was exposed.
Natural Options
There are many natural alternatives available, that will help relieve the pain of sunburn, heal the skin, and prevent scarring. Sunburn is actual damage to the epidermis and should be considered serious, so try and avoid it if you can. Too much exposure to the sun is known to cause signs of premature aging, wrinkles, dryness, and of course, skin cancer.
The easiest sunburn treatment to relieve the pain and swelling is the application of a cold compress. This will allow the skin to cool and the swelling to go down. The blood immediately gushes to the damaged area of a skin with the sole purpose of healing it since you have already burnt the top layer. This causes an immediate reaction causing the swelling to increase and pain to get worse. By using a cold compress and an over-the-counter pain reliever, you should be fine.
Do it at Home Tip:
If your burn is severe, it simply means you are very dehydrated. The more water you drink, the faster you will heal and lesser scars will remain. So if you are looking for a natural approach, make sure you start with a gallon of water down your throat.
